I quit X...

And I am glad I did.

Hi!!! How have you been? It's been a while since my last mail.

I'm not gonna make any excuses, but I was catching up on some stuff in life.

So anyways, let's get to it! (GOD, I missed you people!)

I had an X account for more than 6 months.

During this time, I used to

  • post 3-5 times/day

  • engage like a freaking maniac

  • comment even when I didn't feel like it

And here's what I got...

  • pure frustration

  • grand total of $0

But yes, I did end up making some amazing friends, which I will be forever grateful for.

But other than that...it felt like I was failing.

And honestly, it was eating me alive.

You know that feeling when you feel like everyone has it figured out other than you...

I needed a break, so I hopped into LinkedIn for a while.

And boy, was I TAKEN ABACK.

It was no longer the rigid "professional" platform where the only posts were "I am happy to announce that I am starting a new position at blah blah BLAH."

It was everything I loved in X.

But better.

People were building their brands, sharing their stories, building communities

AND it had a giant hub of people and companies ready to hire.

(And I could write long forms!! I couldn't in X because they won't verify my number)

Within 3 months, I had

  • more than 1000 followers

  • a thriving community

  • closed 3 clients

  • earned $1.5K

The best part?

I only post 3-5 times/week.

And comment less than I ever did on X.

Now, why did I make you read all these?

To brainwash you into quitting X and joining LinkedIn?

Noo! ( Although you never know)

But what I am trying to say is,

If something isn't working out, even though you're giving it your all...

It's probably a sign to change paths.

And don't let ANYONE say you're giving up.

Stubbornly bumping your head on a dead end is well...stupid.

So whatever you're doing, give your very best for 3 months.

If you're getting results, amazing. Double down on it.

If you're not...then be smart and change track.

Because you paths bring new opportunities.

That’s it for today!

See ya next email.

Until then,

Take care, stay safe and drink lots of water.

Love,

Khadija
