What the heck to write about?

The 1st step & most crucial step

The scariest part of starting a personal brand?

Its answering "What the heck do I write about??"

In other words, finding the NICHE.

Here's how I found my niche and how you can too in 3 stupid simple steps

Step 1: Answer this question.

What is the one thing you're really good at? Something that comes naturally to you but keeps others scratching their heads?

I had no freaking idea.

Until I took a look at my journal (No, not the ‘dear diary’ kind…even though I do write my thoughts and feelings…but hey, that’s a crucial part)

Guess what I found.

  • "You could publish that article!". "Yeah right", I said

  • English class, the teacher made me read my essay out loud saying everyone should hear how good it was

  • 1st prize in a persuasive writing competition

  • I was sad, so started writing

  • I was happy, so started writing

  • I was confused, so started writing

It was brimming with subtle signs that made me realize I loved writing more than I thought.

And apparently, I was pretty good.

So take your time and figure out

What's that one thing love and are also great at?

But you don’t have a journal? Fine, just ask your friends and family. Trust me when I say they know more about your skills than you do.

( And, I highly recommend starting a journal. Not only does it notch up your writing, but also clarifies your thoughts and goals. I promise you will see the difference in a week. Like a rubber band was cinched around your head that suddenly snapped)

Step 2: How do I know my niche is profitable?

Let's be honest. Monetizing is our ultimate goal.

So, how do you know you're not spending your time and effort for flies in your pocket?

By making sure your content aligns with the 3 of our most desperate desires.

  • Money

  • Self-improvement

  • Health (physical and mental)

If your content/product/service can help people achieve even one of the above...

You can rest assured knowing they would pay a hand and a leg for you.

Step 3: "OK, I still don't get it. WHAT do I write?"

The easiest and most full proof way to handle this?

STAR YOURSELF

What the heck do I mean?

I mean what I said.

2 ways you can do this.

1st, take your past struggles and write about how you overcame them.

Let's say, you were an overweight junk-food addict. You can write about how you got back in shape.

Your diet, exercises, any special routine you followed…anything and everything.

Why does this work?

Because if you were facing these problems, you can bet 1000s of others are as well.

Waiting for your guidance.

But hey, I don't HAVE any life changing achievements to talk about!

No worries, you can use the 2nd method.

Find a goal. Work towards it. Document your journey.

I remember following this YouTube channel before my A 'levels for her study techniques, guidance and even motivation.

This works because you act as a role model for those who want to achieve similar goals, but are either scared to start or are struggling in the journey.

Share your problems and solutions, your failures and successes.

People WILL follow your journey. And buy from you because you KNOW their struggles a lot better than some already established creator far ahead in the road.

OK, that's it for today.

P.S. This email was the trailer for the movie on

“How to start a personal brand, from scratch without spending a single dollar, even if you’re a beginner with no experience whatsoever”

So if you found this helpful, and wish to START your epic journey towards grabbing a hefty handful of the $30 BILLION creator economy before the competition gets choking…

Look out for the next email. Dropping Next Friday.

Until then,

Take care, drink a bunch of water, and have fun.

Lots of love,

Khadija
