Can you live without the Internet for 7 days? We did....
Here's the realization that SLAPPED me in the face
So a little backstory.
Students in our country protested against a quota system that reserves almost HALF of the highest paying government jobs for the descendants of freedom fighters.
Well...kinda unfair, isn't it?
Considering the war was 53 years ago...
The government eventually agreed.
But they were a bit too late...
Other than the student deaths, something a lot LOT more horrible happened.
The other political parties and terrorists teamed up...
And went on a maniac serial fire lighting spree destroying many important structures.
Including the data center.
So no Internet.
In the entire freaking country.
The results?
no planes or trains
no contact outside the country
even contact INSIDE the country costs more
people rushed after newspapers
mobile banking said byeee
TV made a comeback
As if we were suddenly plugged back in 2010.
This made me realize more than ever just how damn dependent we got on Internet.
Or to be more exact...technology.
And to think, technology keeps growing day by day like some sort of a parasite on steroids.
So, my question is...
Are you keeping up with it?
Or are you coughing up dust as its racing past you?
Let me cut the chase and just get to it.
Companies today no longer care about paper CVs.
Yes, they still want it but only as a formality.
Now they
Google search you
go through your LinkedIn account
gauge your abilities through online sources
In other words, it's time to build your personal brand. One that
highlights your skills
brings you in touch with industry leaders
gives you the unfair advantage over competitors
I don't know WHAT you're waiting for...
But hey, I think it's time to stop waiting and start working.
And if you're wondering HOW to build it?
Well, you're in the right spot!
I'll walk you through every step of the way.
All you have to do is keep an eye for the next emails.
Trust me, you don't wanna miss them...
That’s it for today!
See ya next email.
Until then,
Take care, stay safe and drink lots of water.
Love,
Khadija
